and blackened

gold or azure

for of it all, his
life was gone,
and now history
echoes, but a dead
and vain song.

But legend goes, his
skull lay clear,
of pow'r lost,
and mighty dear,

so kings sought
valiant, and
sincerely sight,

but lost was this
vestige of might.
